“Trauma can be destructive, but it can also be transformational.”
Season Childress, LPC
As a coach, teacher, school counselor and therapist raised in Southwest Virginia, I have seen the impacts of trauma on individuals, families and communities. I also learned that whenever people had access to appropriate resources, they could experience healing and move forward with more fulfilling lives.
With over 18 years of therapy experience, I have found EMDR and neurofeedback to be profoundly helpful in addressing trauma; filling in the gaps that talk therapy alone miss. Trauma experienced without resources for resolution and integration, change the brain and the body. Therefore, the physiological impacts of trauma must be acknowledged. Both EMDR and neurofeedback address the brain, body and mind and as a result, clients often report a more complete healing experience.
